Funny, isn’t it; Infiniti hasn’t even begun selling cars on the other side of the Atlantic and Europeans are already getting the best that the company has to offer. See, while Infiniti announced that the entry-level 2009 FX in the North American market will be the FX35 that’s powered by a 303 Hp 3.5-liter V6 unit, Europeans will be happy to know that they will get the FX37 equipped with a slightly detuned version of the G37’s 3.7-liter V6 delivering 320 Hp at 7,000 rpm and 360Nm or 265.5 lb-ft of torque. The FX37 will be available with a new seven-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) and AWD as standard. Buyers will be able to choose among two major option packs: Sport and Multimedia. The Sport pack includes among other things, active Continuous Damping Control system with electronically controlled shock absorbers while the multimedia pack is based around a top-end Bose 11 speaker audio system and the latest satellite navigation system with voice recognition.
“FX37 is a significant model for Europe and we expect it to account for as much as 80 per cent of FX sales,” says Jim Wright, Vice President Infiniti Europe. “By combining excellent handling and punchy performance with genuine luxury and SUV practicality, FX37 will appeal to customers who appreciate quality and individuality.” The FX37 will go on sale across Europe together with the G37 Saloon, G37 Coupe, EX37 and FX50 (see here) starting from October 2008. –More pics after the jump
