2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift: High-Res Gallery and Official Specs

Four years after the market launch of the current generation S-Class codenamed W221, Mercedes-Benz decided that it was time for its luxury sedan to receive a mid-life makeover. Styling changes are quite subtle and include a more pronounced shape for the radiator grille, a new bumper that incorporates LED daytime driving lights, revised headlamps and tail lights and new door mirrors.

As an option, Mercedes-Benz offers to equip its flagship model with the new SPLITVIEW technology for the COMAND control and display system centrally located in the centre console.

As is usual with German carmakers lately, Mercedes-Benz has once again tweaked the whole engine range of the 2010 S-Class promising that on average, the petrol and diesel powertrains require up to seven per cent less fuel than before.

Among various other upgrades, Mercedes-Benz has improved the long and medium-range radar used by Brake Assist PLUS and DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control systems while fine-tuning of the suspension in conjunction with the new Direct-Steer system, promise to give the 2009 S-Class better driving dynamics and agility.

The 2009 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will hit European showrooms by the end of June 2009.
