Last Call: Ford to Produce An Additional Run of 400 Units of the 305HP Focus RS for Germany

Ford's original plans were to produce a total of 1,200 units of the Focus RS hot hatch for the German market. However, due to the unexpectedly high demand for the company's fastest-ever European model, Ford has decided to build an additional run of 400 copies of the 305-horsepower strong Focus RS exclusively for Germany, thus increasing the total number of cars allocated to the country to 1,600 units.

The automaker pretty much made it clear that this is a one-off decision and there won't be any more Focus RS built after this last batch of cars.

The remaining Focus RS models will be offered in three exterior finishes, 'Frost White', 'Indianapolis-blue metallic' and 'Ultimate Green Metallic'. Those interested may order the cars now with first deliveries set to take place in early 2010.

The Focus RS is fitted with a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five that makes a hefty 305 horsepower and 440 Nm of peak torque that are delivered to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The car hits 100km/h (62mph) from standstill in 5.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 263 km/h or 163 mph.
