2012 Fiat 500 Accessorized by Mopar to Break Cover in Detroit

In addition to the previously mentioned 2011 Chrysler 200 Super S, Mopar will also be displaying several aftermarket accessories for the recently launched in the USA, Fiat 500, through a special version of the city car at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Like the Chrysler 200, the Mopar-flavored Fiat 500 is all show and no-go, as all upgrades are more or less purely cosmetic.

The Detroit Show Mopar 500 appears to be far less impressive than the concept shown by the same division at last year's SEMA gathering, with the overall styling bringing to mind the accessories found on Mopar's "10' Limited Edition Challenger". Details and photos after the jump.

Following is a list of Mopar accessories that will be featured on the 2012 Fiat 500:

Door-sill guards with 500 logo
Roof/hood decals feature a double-blue stripe
Katzkin leather interior, black with blue accents
Carbon fiber-style hand brake
Carbon fiber-style shift knob with leather boot
Rear window-mount rack
Snowboard carrier
Wheels, black gloss
Chromed exhaust tip
Chromed mirror covers
Chromed fuel door
Chromed grille surround, front and back
Wheel center caps
Key fob cover
Strut tower brace

Dodge at SEMA: Video presentation offers first look at the 2011 Challenger SRT8's Interior

Last night, the Chrysler Group's Mopar division held a special media event at its SEMA Show booth in Las Vegas to show off its new goodies, which include the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Inaugural Edition, Charger Redline, Durango and the Rich Evans Mopar-powered Challenger. This video from the presentation provides us our first glimpse of the 2011 Challenger SRT8's interior, which doesn't look any different from the current model sans the newly designed and badged three-spoke sports steering wheel. SEMA Preshow: 2010 Fiat 500 Tuned by the American Way

The Chrysler Group is bumping up the interest on the upcoming U.S. market Fiat 500 with a tuned concept version readied by none other than the Mopar Underground team, which will make its world premiere at next month's SEMA Show.

In what could be seen as a preview of things to come for U.S. buyers of the retro-styled city car, Mopar's team has created a raft of unique styling and performance parts for the 500.

The SEMA Show concept model, which is based on the European version of the Fiat 500, features a two-tone paint-job and a wide bodykit that includes race-inspired flared wheel arches, new front and rear bumpers, and side skirts. The vehicle rides on large 18-inch Alcoa wheels shod in Pirelli tires, while the car's aggressive stance is further enhanced with the lower ride height.

The interior is said to feature red seat and red door insert on the driver's side, with piano-black accents on the instrument panel.

In the performance division, Mopar fitted the Italian city car with a custom exhaust system that increases the four-cylinder engine's output and a Mopar strut tower brace that is claimed to reduce body flex in the front end and improve and handling.

The Chrysler Group said it will also bring along to SEMA two more Fiat 500s outfitted with a full complement of Mopar parts and accessories.

The U.S.-spec 2011 Fiat 500 will be available for order before the end of the year in the Sport, Pop and Lounge models, followed by the 500C (cabrio) in the spring of 2011.

Dodge Releases Photos of Mopar '10 Challenger Limited Edition

A couple of weeks ago, Chrysler announced details on the Dodge Mopar 10' Challenger special, but kept the pictures under wraps simply teasing us with a single illustration of the muscle car.

Today, the company published a full set of images on the Mopar '10 Challenger, which is available for pre-order now in a limited production of 500 units with pricing set at $38,000 for an automatic transmission and $39,000 for a manual gearbox.

The limited edition model is based on the 2010 Challenger R/T with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine. Mopar, the parts and accessories arm of Chrysler, has spruced up the car with a raft of cosmetic and performance enhancements.

"Mopar '10 has a wicked, sinister appearance that will turn heads." said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of Dodge, Chrysler Group LLC. "The Mopar brand resonates with hard-core enthusiasts, and this car will too."

The car comes equipped with a hood-venting system, a cold-air intake, a front strut-tower brace with shock caps, and a unique engine cover plus a rear strut-tower brace that stiffens the chassis to improve handling.

The Mopar '10 Challenger is available exclusively in black with blue, red or silver strips on the outside and matching accents inside. Exterior features include 20-inch forged heritage gloss-black wheels, black-chromed grille surround and a functional, vented T/A-style hood with vintage hood pins. And let's not forget the Mopar logos that can be found just about everywhere, inside and out - we get it, it's a Mopar special...

As for the interior, there's Katzkin leather seating and a custom leather-wrapped steering wheel with baseball-style stitching, while nostalgia fans will surely dig the Mopar shifters (T-handle for automatics and Pistol Grip for manuals).

As a bonus, all owners will receive a unique cover and a special kit that includes a certificate with the vehicle identification number (VIN), date of build completion, and build number, and a limited-edition sketch of the car signed by Chrysler Group design boss Mark Trostle.

Mopar at Moab: 2010 Rock Crawlers

While Chrysler's on-lot product seems to be significantly lacking in the appeal department, the company's Mopar tuning division continues to impress. Being showcased during the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah (is there any way to say that WITHOUT sounding like a PR executive?) between March 27th and April 4th) will be some of Mopar's more hardcore concepts.

Much like last year, when Mopar unveiled such hosses as the Lower Forty and J8 Sarge, Mopar will be bringing a variety of Jeeps and trucks.

This year's stars include two Wranglers (J7 and Trail Boss), a Ram (Power Wagon), and a Patriot (Extreme). From spy shots and press pics, it looks like it's gonna be an off-road bonanza full of color and big tires.

The J7 is a said to be a 4-door Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited which is rumored to be a stripped down model in the G.I. vein, while the Trail Boss is probably yet another heavy-duty Wrangler 2-door that can handle anything and then some.

The Ram Power Wagon is shaping up to be another Baja-badass like Chevy's SEMA-fied ZR2 Silverado and Ford's too-legit-to-quit SVT Raptor, albeit with a short cab / short bed layout. All that, AND it has a color scheme eerily similar to Techart's Concept One. Wonder if it has the snakeskin (or cerbero) trim?

Lastly, the Jeep Patriot Extreme is a dream come true, finally looking like the Cherokee successor it's supposed to be (as a Cherokee owner, I refuse to accept that the Liberty is a fitting substitute). Lifted and wearing fender flares. Now the Cherokee can finally rest in peace.
