VW Eos "Highway 1" Concept Debuts at Pebble Beach

A month before the Eos starts its career in the US (October 2, 2006 with prices starting fro the 3.2 at $36,850), Volkswagen's California Design Center decided to debut a concept version of the all new Coupe-Convertible at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance (August 18-20).

Apart from it's name, the Highway 1 distinguishes itself from the stock Eos thanks to its 1 inch lower stance (due to a coil-over suspension system from H&R Special Springs), new 20 x 8-inch Mille Miglia multi-spoke alloys and wide 245/30 Continental performance tires and finally, a discrete boot-lip spoiler.

In the interior, the Highway 1 gets upgraded with special 2-tone leather upholstery and piano black lacquer trim plus a thick flat-bottom sport steering wheel. No surprises under the hood as the Eos Highway 1's drive train features a standard 250Hp 3.2-liter V6 that’s combined with VW’s innovative DSG double-clutch 6speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic.
