Oops... $1.5 Million Luxury Yacht Plunges With Two Men Aboard!

Even though this truly amazing story has nothing to do with the world of wheels, nevertheless since it concerns transportation we thought we’d post it. From what we gathered from “Mad Mariner”, the 55-Foot long and 62,000-Pound Carver Marquis Yacht that’s priced close to a jaw dropping $1.5 million plummeted into the sea along with two crewmen as it was being off-loaded for delivery to its new owner in Dubai's Port Jbel Ali on March 7. If you’re wondering whether the pictures are the work of a photoshopper, the guys at “Mad Mariner” communicated with Carver Yachts, where spokesman Dick Nocenti verified that the photos are real and that the incident actually occurred. -Continued: Click “Read More…” below

According to Nocenti, the Yacht began slipping from the rear strap due to "wind and water action," as the straps around the bow and stern of the boat were not tied together, which he said is a common practice when unloading yachts. "The boat nosedived and it hit bottom, crushing the front end, and then capsized and sank”, he said.

On the right hand side of the above picture you can see one of the crewmen who was aboard at the time slipping down in terror. Nocenti said that one of the men broke his collar bone while the other managed to escape without sustaining any injuries. The $1.5 million 55-footer was a total off in case you’re wondering.

We received an e-mail from YachtForums stating that the pictures of the sunken Yacht were given to them by a friend of their site.
