The “Prototype-S” will bear the moniker Lancer Sportback Ralliart when it goes into production during the second half of the year. Mitsubishi’s hatchback is powered by a de-tuned version of the EVO X’s 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo engine delivering 240 HP and it also gets the same advanced AWD system as the top Lancer. Its AWD Subaru counterpart is equipped with a 224 HP 4-cylinder, turbocharged boxer engine.
There’s no way of knowing which car is better until we get the chance to drive both of them, but it would be interesting to hear your initial thoughts after seeing what Mitsubishi is preparing to offer. Leave us a comment below. (Image edited by Carscoop)
