Following last week's teaser preview of the current generation 1 M Coupe and more relevantly, spy shots of the next 1-Series hatchback in three-door form, today we bring you pictures of the new five-door variant and for the first time, scoop images of the baby BMW's cabin that give us a flavour of the interior styling.
Our new spy photos reveal a redesigned center console that is slightly angled towards the driver and comes with new controls. As with the current BMW 1-Series, the iDrive / navigation screen is located at the top of the dashboard. We can also see a newly styled three-spoke steering wheel with a chunky girth.
Besides the fact that this 1-Series 5d prototype featured two tail pipes suggesting it's either the 135i with a 306HP 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six, or, possibly, the long-rumored turbocharged four-cylinder petrol model, we don't have anything new to add about the car from our previous post (click here)- unless you want to read something in lines of "the five-door model looks like the three-door version with an extra pair of doors..."
The next iteration of the BMW 1-Series will be launched in both three- and five-door body styles in late 2011, with the sportier two-door coupe and convertible models to follow shortly after.
