The Chrysler Group has released a tentative list of where it will be selling Fiat's cutey-patooty Fiat 500. Approximately 600 dealers nationwide have been informed that they are currently in a market suitable for the 500. With applications ending in September, Chrysler says it will have its final decisions ready by "early October".
Chrysler's Peter Grady says: "The requirements for Fiat are straightforward: separate sales and display at launch, transitioning to a full dealership facility as the volume grows. Our goal is to establish a retail network appropriately sized to serve the market opportunity."
The Detroit automaker said it has currently identified 119 markets in the U.S. with strong small-car registrations and growth potential in the small-car segment over the next five years.
